The AI-controlled opponents are remarkably cunning – their actions on the battlefield are almost human-like. Developers did their best to translate the WWII reality into the game. The midair battles take place on impressively large maps, spreading out up to 360 km from East to West, and 230 km from North to East. In the single player mode, one assumes the role of a pilot fighting for one of the available factions aboard one of the eight available airplanes. In between, one also participates in the Winter Storm Operation that took place in December 1942. The game starts with the Operation Uranus and ends with the destruction of the German 6th Army.
